KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A grant of more than $63,000 is helping Muse Knoxville to improve it's facilities and make the children's museum more accessible.
On Wednesday, Muse Knoxville announced that it was named as a recipient of a $63,250 grant for capital maintenance and improvement from the State of Tennessee that is administered through the Tennessee State Museum.
Muse said the funds will be used to install automatic door openers on all public-facing doors and to upgrade the planetarium's HVAC system. These changes will help ensure there is safe, easy access for guests using wheelchairs, strollers or mobility devices as well as to improve guest comfort while protecting specialized equipment.
