Eva Fontaine scored off an Amalia Amico direct kick to give East Providence a 1-0 victory over Moses Brown during a D-2 home game on Tuesday night. Fontaine got her head on the direct kick and deflected it into the goal in the second half as the East Providence offense peppered the Quakers keeper Marielle Nassi with nine shots on goal.
Goalkeeper Sadie Gagnon made 3 saves to preserve her 8th clean sheet of the season.
The 11-1-2 Townies are currently in first place after beating the Quakers and are in control of their own destiny with two games remaining this week. East Providence travels to Middletown on Wed. at 4 p.m. and Ponaganset on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
