The National Weather Service is predicting an atmospheric river will bring high winds and heavy rain across northwest Oregon and southwest Washington this weekend.

The weather system will make for a soggy and potentially blustery start to the weekend and although it never rains in Autzen Stadium, attendees of this weekend's Grateful Ducks game should be prepared for thunderstorms.

The Eugene area is expected to get a thorough soaking while coastal residents may want to keep the wind from snatching their beach chairs by putting them away for the year.
