ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/ KRBC) - For many Veterans, finding an outlet to help with internal struggles is crucial, and the Abilene Vet Center has developed a unique outlet that includes some friendly competition.

Part of the mission for the Vet Center is helping soldiers cope with trauma, and one of their most effective ways of doing so is therapy through archery. Daniel Winegeart, an Army Veteran who saw active combat in Iraq, explained how being part of the archery group helps him.

"That's how it is. The Brotherhood. It also brings another home where we belong. It's very crucial because if you don't feel like you belong anywhere, it can lead to some bad places, bad decisions, and ultimately it could end up in death," Winegeart shared.
