BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) - Manatee County Commissioners have voted to name a section of roadway for a hometown hero who was killed in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Pfc. Christopher Cobb, a U.S. Marine, was killed April 6, 2004 by hostile fire in Ramadi, Anbar Province.
County commissioners directed staff to start the process of designating the road that will be named after Cobb.
“Dedicating a road in Manatee County in honor of Marine Private First Class Christopher Cobb is a powerful tribute to a local hero whose sacrifice embodies courage, service, and patriotism,” the motion noted.
“This gesture reflects our deep respect and gratitude for his service and ensures that future generations recognize and remember the profound impact he made.”
