OMAHA, Neb. —
Health care workers and volunteers want to make sure those in need of mental health help get resources.
They were out at the Petco near 72nd and Dodge streets on Wednesday, giving out free breakfast and information about how to get help no matter where they are on their mental health journey.
"Mental health is challenging and sometimes you don't know where to start. And that's what we're here for. We're here to let people know this is where you start, this is where you get the resources, this is where you start to continue on the journey of mental health," said Ebony Byars.
Organizers of the event want to make sure everyone knows about the hotlines that are available, including 988 and the Nebraska Family Helpline.
Both are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
