"His pursuit of excellence for a young, highly skilled athletic guy is neat," O'Shea said of Vaval.
On the football field, Trey Vaval often pulls double duty, but he is also doubling down elsewhere.
The Bombers rookie was nominated as the team’s 2025 representative as both the league’s most outstanding offensive special teams player and most outstanding rookie.
“I couldn’t do it without my teammates,” Vaval said. “It is a shout out to them and the reason I have (these nominations).”
Vaval leads the league in punt return yards with 957 and ranks fifth in kickoff return yards at 918 on 37 attempts. He also leads the CFL in missed field goal return yards with 391.
And there are additional numbers to double down on.
Vaval also leads the CFL with four kick-return touchdowns this season. H
