Electronic Arts announced this week that "The Sims Mobile" will permanently stop operating on Jan. 20, 2026, ending nearly eight years of operation for the free-to-play mobile game.
The company released a final update Oct. 20, marking the last new content for the game, according to an announcement on the official Sims Mobile website.
The game was delisted from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store on Oct. 21, but existing players can continue playing until the shutdown date.
"The Sims Mobile" launched in 2018 as a free-to-play mobile spin-off of EA's popular life simulator series. The mobile game generated $25 million in its first six months on the market thanks to in-game transactions.
