HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - On Wednesday, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) cut the ribbon on a brand new building for STEM programs at the Harrison County Campus.
At over 60,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art facility is designed to elevate the STEM program to more modern capabilities.
The new facilities have a price tag at just over $24 million, and officials say it’s worth the cost to bring the STEM program into the future.
“This campus was built in 1965, and so, you can imagine we needed an upgrade in terms of science and technology facilities,” Dr. Mary Graham, President of MGCCC said. “But when you’re teaching high-tech programs, you have to have a building that can accommodate the kind of energy, power and technology that’s required for those high-tech progr
