LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Bluegrass Center for Autism in Louisville officially cut the ribbon on its new Fern Creek facility Wednesday, to provide individual and group behavioral therapy for adults with autism. Its opening marks a cornerstone for autism treatment in Kentucky, with the center being the first of its kind in the state.

Advancements in research and understanding of the disorder in recent decades have led to an increase in successful autism diagnoses in children, at an average of 1 in 31. But the non-profit’s efforts are now focused on filling the gaps for those requiring continuing care outside of childhood services.
