PORTLAND, Ore. — Police are investigating a shooting in southeast Portland that left an adult man seriously injured Wednesday afternoon.

The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) confirmed the incident in an email to KGW. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at Southeast 174th Avenue and Southeast Haig Street around 3:39 p.m.

The victim, a man, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Police say he is expected to survive.

No arrests have been made at this time.

The Focused Intervention Team and Enhanced Community Safety Team are leading the investigation, according to PPB.

Nearby schools briefly went into secure status as a precaution, Portland police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Portland Police Bureau.
