PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - After a disappointing finish to the regular season, the Portland Timbers won when it mattered Wednesday in a wild card match versus Real Salt Lake.

The final score was 3-1.

The Timbers started off strong, scoring two goals in the first half, before RLS scored their first.

The Timbers scored their third goal in the 82nd minute, and they never looked back.

Portland advances to round 1 of the playoffs, where they’ll face off against top-seeded San Diego in a best-of-three series beginning Sunday in California.
