New Delhi: A report by the Cyber Monitoring Centre (CMC) says the recent cyber-attack on Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has cost the UK economy around £1.9 billion. This could be the most expensive cyber-attack in British history. The losses might grow if JLR faces more delays in returning to full production, which has been badly affected since the attack at the end of August.

After discovering the hack, JLR had to shut down its systems across all factories and offices. The company, which is the UK’s largest carmaker and employer in the auto sector, managed to restart limited production in early October. However, full production is not expected to resume until January. JLR, owned by India’s Tata Group, has three major factories in the UK that produce about 1,000 cars daily.
