A "beloved" mother and grandmother has tragically died after choking while out to dinner with her husband while on holiday in Spain.

Ceri Ball, 74, passed away on Friday, October 17 after she choked to death on a piece of steak while at a restaurant with husband, Glyn, 77, in Peñíscola, Spain.

Staff performed the Heimlich remover on the grandma before paramedics arrived at the scene. The emergency services managed to dislodge the food from Ceri's throat around 20 minutes after the incident, with the mum then transferred to the Comarcal de Vinaròs Hospital where she was put on life-support.
