Const. Chan Lee of the Medicine Hat Police Service has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon following an investigation into a use of force complaint.
The Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services was notified of the use of force event which occurred on Jan. 26, giving rise to a criminal investigation initiated by MHPS.
The Ministry did not receive a public complaint, however it was notified of the event by MHPS in accordance with the Alberta Police Act.
On Wednesday, Lee was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and was released on an appearance notice. Lee is scheduled to appear before the courts on Nov. 25.
