After what has felt like two months without precipitation in Central Texas, a potent weekend storm system will blow through Central Texas. Although the ground is dry and able to absorb rain, multiple inches of rain are possible! Friday night and Saturday are both First Alert Weather Days for the possibility of flash flooding and a few stronger thunderstorms.
Heavy rain is the main concern, but isolated strong storms are possible too
It has been bone-dry all month long across Central Texas in what’s supposed to be our second rainiest month of the year. We likely will not make up all of our rainfall deficit, but we could make up most of it with 1″ to 3″ of precipitation set to fall.
By and large, the main weather hazard with our weekend storm system will be the heavy rain and pockets
