QUINCY (WGEM) - Social media and gaming platforms have become a digital home away from home for many youth – but the FBI says violent groups are infiltrating many online spaces and radicalizing children, teens and young adults.

Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers hosted special agents from the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) at the Quincy Holiday Inn Wednesday, Oct. 22 to discuss the growing threat.

Special Agent Jake Griffin said most groups are not motivated by one specific ideology but draw inspiration from a variety of nihilistic worldviews. Many groups simply want to sow chaos and violence.
