The Chief Minister praised the loco pilot’s alertness, saying his timely action helped avert a possible tragedy

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that police have identified a person involved in the suspected IED blast on a railway track between Kokrajhar and Salakati around 1:00 AM today. The suspect, according to the Chief Minister, is wanted in several cases in Assam and Jharkhand, and police are confident of arresting him soon.

Speaking to reporters, Sarma said, “At around 3 AM I got a call from the DGP. He told me that a vital portion of a railway track was blown off by an IED explosion.
