Cachar Fake Doctors Case: NIMS has no approval or recognition from the National Medical Council (NMC) or any other competent authority.

In a major development in the fake doctors’ case in Assam’s Cachar district, police have arrested the alleged mastermind behind a large-scale fake medical certification racket.

Cachar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Numal Mahatta informed that the accused, Dr. Jayanta Prasad Das, has been arrested for allegedly running an unrecognized and fraudulent institution named the National Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS). The institute has reportedly been issuing fake medical degrees and certificates including M.D. (Alternative Medicine) for nearly two decades in return for huge amount of money.
