Agartala, 23 rd October 2025: Members of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and the Tripura Students’ Union (TSU) staged a protest march in Agartala today, condemning an alleged police assault on schoolchildren in South Tripura’s Ramraibari Higher Secondary School.

The incident took place yesterday morning when students of the school locked its main gate and demonstrated against the transfer of two teachers. During the protest, Assistant Sub-Inspector Maran Baidya from the Baikhora police station allegedly baton-charged the students, injuring several minors. Five students were reportedly hospitalized following the incident.
