Mosquitos have just been discovered in one of the coldest countries on the planet.

According to NPR , the Natural Science Institute of Iceland has recorded the presence of three Culiseta Annulata mosquitoes.

The insects reportedly got there via freight and have appeared to be able to adapt to the country’s cold climate, which averages 35 degrees Fahrenheit annually, the fourth coldest country in the world.

NPR adds the Institute also says a number of other insect species have been discovered in Iceland in recent years due to global warming and the increase in international transportation.

The only place in the world now believed to have no mosquitoes is Antarctica.
