MARINGOUIN, La. (WAFB) - Two suspects are now behind bars in connection with a shooting that left a teenager dead in Maringouin.

Derion Rogers, 19, and DaQaun Causey, 17, both of Baton Rouge, were booked into the Iberville Parish Jail on second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and armed robbery charges.

The shooting happened last week at the Ridgewood Apartments.

According to Iberville Sheriff Brett Stassi, 17-year-old Derrien Scott was identified as the teen who died. A second victim, a 19-year-old male, was transported to the hospital and has since been released.

Officials say Scott was a high school senior in the Iberville Parish School System.
