CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The City of Cincinnati is planning to investigate the leadership effectiveness of Police Chief Teresa Theetge through an outside law firm, according to councilmember Seth Walsh.
On Thursday, the councilman said the city is in the process of interviewing potential firms. Meanwhile, the chief has not shown any signs of resigning.
City manager Sheryl Long released a statement Monday, Oct. 20, that said the city will conduct “an internal investigation on the effectiveness of her leadership,” but did not say who would be performing the investigation.
Long, who has the authority to appoint, dismiss and suspend the police chief, placed Theetge on paid administrative leave as well.
