Alberta’s government will officially introduce back to work legislation for the province’s teachers.

An order paper filed on the Legislative Assembly of Alberta website Thursday refers to the legislation as Bill 2, the Back to School Act.

House Leader Joseph Schow is set to propose a motion that would allow the bill to advance multiple stages in a day.

The document also says that debate will be limited to one hour in subsequent readings.

The strike is nearing the end of its third week.

Premier Danielle Smith has said the job action is proving to be an intolerable hardship for students and families and has hinted a back to work order was incoming.

Opposition Leader Naheed Nenshi said Wednesday his party will vehemently oppose the legislation.
