GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The Grand Rapids Downtown Development Authority is expected to get an estimated revenue boost of $224,600 under a new lease for a paid public parking lot next to Van Andel Arena that’s owned by a DeVos family affiliated company.
The new 10-year agreement between the DDA and 45 Ionia Associates was unanimously approved, with one board member, Grand Rapids Mayor David LaGrand, abstaining. Speaking after the meeting, LaGrand said he abstained because he wasn’t sure if the deal came at a cost to the city of Grand Rapids.
