HONOLULU (Island News) – The PGA TOUR announced that The Sentry will not be held in 2026 due to ongoing drought conditions on Maui impacting the Plantation Course at Kapalua.

According to the PGA TOUR, the Sony Open in Hawaii will kick off the 2026 season from January 12-18 at Waialae Country Club. This event will mark the start of the 20th FedExCup season.

PGA TOUR Chief Competitions Officer Tyler Dennis emphasized the collaboration with Sentry Insurance, saying, “While it is unfortunate to arrive at this decision, we are appreciative of the collaboration and dedication from Sentry Insurance, a tremendous partner of ours.”
