U.S. President Donald Trump has pardoned one of Canada’s richest businessmen, the co-founder of Binance Changpeng Zhao.
Zhao, one of the creators behind the cryptocurrency exchange, pleaded guilty and served four months in prison last year on charges related to money laundering, according to Politico . He founded Binance in 2017 and was its CEO until he resigned in 2023 . He is currently ranked 21 on Forbes’ real time billionaires list . His net worth is US$85.6 billion. He remains the highest ranking Canadian on the list.
