PAINESVILLE, Ohio — City officials broke ground Tuesday on a new $1.95 million amphitheater in downtown Painesville, a project that leaders say will boost community arts programming and accelerate the city’s ongoing revitalization efforts.

The Painesville Amphitheater, located at 257 E. Main St., will be built into the hillside beneath the city’s new Grand River Walk. It will include permanent seating, a concession stand, green room, restrooms, lighting, acoustic equipment, landscaping and parking lot improvements.

Burgess & Niple completed the engineering and design, and Town Center Construction will serve as the lead contractor.
