A fire at a home amidst a cluster of about two dozen houses at Tonca-Miramar, close to the Agriculture Department, triggered panic among residents who feared it could spread to the other homes.
Firemen from the nearby headquarters of the Fire and Emergency Services at Tonca, however, rushed to the site and doused the fire before much damage could be caused.
A Fire Services official said the blaze was brought under control before it could spread to other houses and properties.
There were no casualties or significant damage to property, although the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, the official said.
