(FOX40.COM) — The Roseville Police Department recieved notice of a series of auto arsons which led to the arrest of a 16-year-old suspect on Thursday.
What initially started as a random vehicle fire on Oct. 13th developed into a series of arsons totaling five vehicle fires within 10 days. Each fire was in walking distance of the other in the area of Bill Hughes Park in Roseville.
After midnight on Thursday, a caller reported the sound of loud banging coming from their parked vehicle and someone next to their car. The caller said they noticed a flame inside of their car and that the window had been broken out.
When patrol officers and detectives reached the area, they caught the suspect as he fled on foot, police said.
