NORFOLK, Va. — A Norfolk jury found Demetrios Bryant, 31, guilty of first-degree murder on Wednesday after evidence suggested he bludgeoned and stabbed Michelle Ford-Outlaw, 54, then biting off pieces of her body in 2023.
Police said the murder happened on the morning of Dec. 28, 2023. Both Ford-Outlaw and Bryant were residents of a rooming house on Peterson Street.
According to the Norfolk Commonwealth's Attorney Office, security footage captured Bryant slamming Ford-Outlaw into her closed bedroom door, knocking the door down and causing Ford-Outlaw to fall face-down. Bryant could be seen yelling at her and grabbed a large, empty glass bottle. Ford-Outlaw attempted to defend herself but Bryant swung the bottle onto her head, beating her with the bottle for the next two minutes.
