“For me, it felt like visiting Rome,” Irwin tells the Post. “It was just this beautiful preserved ruin. Where others would probably see a creepy abandoned meatpacking facility, I just saw enormous potential to create a really dynamic center for the Germantown community.”
Irwin, the president of Atlanta-based New City Properties, bought the site in 2020. Five years later, it’s a bustling hub of office, retail and residential space, with more to come.
