ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A new report from online rental marketplace Zumper ranks St. Louis as the number one city in the United States for single people.

The study is based on factors including affordability, job opportunities and access to social activities. Researchers found that St. Louis offers a lower cost of living compared to other major cities while maintaining a variety of restaurants, bars, and entertainment options.

According to Apartments.com , the average rent in St. Louis is about $1,122 per month, which is roughly 31% lower than the national average of $1,630.

The Zumper report also shows that about half of the city’s population is single.
