LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Congressman Morgan McGarvey visited the Family Health Center in Iroquois on Thursday to learn about the potential impact of federal funding cuts on local health services.
The center, which is primarily federally funded, provides medical care, food assistance, family support, and transportation to over 40,000 patients annually in Jefferson County.
Bart Irwin, CEO of the Family Health Center, expressed concerns about the future, stating that while they are currently managing, the loss of Medicaid could pose significant challenges.
"We struggle now with funding, but we're doing OK. But, as we see the uninsured patients that are likely to increase from the loss of Medicaid, it will be a terrific challenge," Irwin said.
