INDIANAPOLIS -- Pacers starting point guard Andrew Nembhard did not return to the floor in the second half of Thursday's season opener against the Thunder due to a sore left shoulder according to the Pacers' social media accounts. He will not return to the game. Ben Sheppard started at point guard in the second half in his place.
The Pacers are already playing without All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton, out for the season with an Achilles tendon tear, and and veteran backup T.J. McConnell, out until at least Nov. 9 according to coach Rick Carlisle with a hamstring strain
Nembhard had four points and four assists but was 0 of 5 from the floor in the first half of the game. He averaged 10.0 points and 5.0 assists per game last season.
