SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A local nonprofit geared towards improving the mental and physical health of the western Mass community hosted the Bridge Builder award celebration on Thursday.

Held at the Sheraton hotel, the event honored four leaders for their commitment to building bridges of hope and unity across western Massachusetts.

We caught up with, Caleb Sierra, one of the members of the nonprofit, who says their main goal is to give back to the community, “we are honoring powerful people in our community who have made an impact in western mass. as a grant writer i serve to help this organization move to the future and give back to our community.”

The celebration also served as a fundraiser to support Cruzando Puentes’ year-round educational programs.
