AUSTIN (KXAN) — Central Texas is expected to see heavy rainfall and potentially strong storms arriving Friday evening and Friday night. The threat of inclement weather has led to event cancellations.

KXAN's First Warning Weather Team have said a large cluster of storms and downpours could move in from roughly west to east Friday night continuing into early Saturday morning, bringing a localized flash flood risk and the potential for a few severe storms with the primary threat being damaging wind gusts.

The Trunk-or-Treat event hosted at McKinney Falls State Park was canceled. According to Texas State Parks, the event, which was originally scheduled for Friday evening, will not take place due to rain.
