The City of Morristown has again been recognized for excellent in their FY 2025 budget presentation.

The Government Finance Officers Association presented the city with a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award at Tuesday night’s Council meeting.

“For the 16tth consecutive year, Morristown and our Finance Department are getting the GFOA Budget Presentation Award,” Mayor Gary Chesney said as he presented an award to Finance Department Director Michelle Woods. “(The finance team) did very well, and I’m glad you’re getting recognized for it.”

The Morristown Fire Department presented awards to winners of a coloring contest to children who submitted their art intended to promote fire prevention. MFD Chief Brian Shepard congratulated the 5 winners of different ages on their art.
