On Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Hamblen County Substance Abuse Coalition will team up with the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office and the National Drug Enforcement Agency to conduct the next Community Drug Take Back Event.

There will only be one location for this year’s Fall drug take back, at College Square Mall in the parking lot near McDonald’s, 2550 East Morris Boulevard. They will be collecting and safely disposing of unwanted drugs you might have at home, including opioids and other controlled substances.

Executive Director Stephanie Hardy said that between October 2024 and April 2025, a total of 400 pounds of medications had been picked up by the DEA among the take back events in October and April and from a full-time lock box for disposal at the Hamblen Cou
