SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Tech Foundry in Springfield has partnered with Comcast to offer free digital skills training and internet access to residents.
The initiative aims to improve internet adoption and digital literacy among Greater Springfield residents by providing free classes at Tech Foundry's new headquarters on Main Street.
"For residents of Springfield who are qualified for Comcast Internet Essential plans, if they complete a certain amount of training with us, they'll get 6 months of free internet service," said William Medina, Director of Tech Hub at Tech Foundry.
Comcast is also donating laptops to the first 50 people who complete six digital literacy classes at the Tech Hub.
The classes are designed to be flexible, allowing participants to choose courses that best suit
