Racers laced up their shoes and put on their best Halloween costume to gear up for Campbell's second annual Spooky-Sprint.

Nearly 100 kids participated in the 2.5 mile run — many from Campbell's run club and other runners from the community. An advisor for the school's run club says the event is a great way to encourage team-building among the kids, while also working in some extra steps.

"Typically you don't have a race in your own community so this way they get their bodies moving, they have some physical exercise and see what it's like being a part of a team and then they get to have a great event to participate in," teacher and run club adviser, Dominique Galletta said.
