WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Teens in Wichita will soon have a new place to turn for substance abuse treatment support.
Cherry Creek Treatment Center is expanding its services with a new adolescent program, marking a new era for teen health support in Wichita.
"I think there's just limited programming, limited accessibility to in-patient support for individuals under 18. So I think expanding on that program is necessary for us," Cody Palmer, a recovery advocate with The Phoenix, said.
Palmer says substance abuse isn't rare and impacts people worldwide.
"A lot of people are affected by it, and I think everybody knows somebody who probably suffers from either addiction or mental health," he said.
Cherry Creek Treatment Center opened its doors on Thursday for a sneak peek at the new program. A
