A change in roadkill salvage regulations has put more deer on the menu

Some Rhode Islanders are putting roadkill on their menu thanks to a change in regulations that has made it easier for residents to salvage wildlife struck and killed by automobiles.

Since the start of the year, 42 animals have been salvaged under the new regulations, according to numbers provided by the state Department of Environmental Management . The majority, 30, have been white-tailed deer, but the salvage list includes:
