Final inspection
The proposed ICE facility in McCook has passed its final inspection ahead of its scheduled opening date on Nov. 1. Gov. Jim Pillen said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) inspectors took a final walk-through this week and gave approval to let it house up to 300 detainees.
“Passing these inspections is a testament to our team’s commitment to safety, security, and professionalism,” said Rob Jeffreys, Director of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. “I appreciate the attention to detail shown at every level of this facility and the strong partnerships and cooperation with DHS and ICE that have made this possible.”
