MOKENA, Ill. — A crash along I-80 in the southwest suburbs led to some road closures and sparked some backups for drivers on Friday morning.

The crash, which reportedly involved a semi truck, unfolded along the westbound lanes of I-80 near Mokena.

While details about the incident are limited, crews have shut down the two left westbound lanes of I-80 as they work to clear the scene.

It is unclear how long closures are expected to last or if anyone was injured in the crash.

It is the second day in a row that drivers faced delays along I-80.

I-80 commuters faced similar backups in the opposite direction on Thursday after a car struck a deer, leading to a chain reaction crash in the eastbound lanes of I-80, near Wolf Road.
