CROTONA PARK EAST, The Bronx (PIX11) -- A man was arrested after a 12-year-old girl was found stabbed multiple times in the head and her 31-year-old mother stabbed in the torso in a Bronx home on Wednesday night, according to police.
Sources say Joshua Burnside, 28, is the boyfriend of the 31-year-old, and that the stabbing unfolded in front of the couple's younger children, who are 2 and 5-years-old. He's since been charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
The woman and her daughter were found critically injured inside 1010 East 173 St. in the Bronx around 11:13 p.m. on Wednesday, according to authorities. The mother was taken to a local hospital, where she was expected to survive, while the 12-year-old was taken to a ch
