U.S. President Donald Trump says he has “terminated” trade talks with Canada after accusing the Ontario government of using a “fake” advertisement featuring former president Ronald Reagan to criticize American tariffs.

Trump made the announcement Thursday night on Truth Social, citing what he called “fraudulent” use of Reagan’s 1987 remarks.

“The Ronald Reagan Foundation has just announced that Canada has fraudulently used an advertisement, which is FAKE, featuring Ronald Reagan speaking negatively about tariffs,” Trump wrote. “They only did this to interfere with the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court and other courts.
