One month after he was booted from Doug Ford’s Progressive Conservative caucus, Sault Ste. Marie MPP Chris Scott had a scheduled court hearing in his northeastern Ontario riding Wednesday morning.
However, Scott was not in attendance, opting instead to stay at Queen's Park.
The rookie MPP was arrested and charged with assault and assault with a weapon on Sept. 19.
An articling student, appearing over Zoom on behalf of lawyer Michael Lacy on Wednesday morning, requested Scott's matter be adjourned until after the counsel pre-trial on Nov. 4.
The matter is expected to return to a courtroom in Sault Ste. Marie on Nov. 12.
