VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV) - A 16-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday after a gun was discovered in their backpack at Hudson’s Bay High School.

Vancouver Public Schools said the incident occurred around noon Wednesday. The school received a credible report from a community member and called police.

Officers found the student and discovered a gun in the student’s backpack. Vancouver Police say the student, whose name was not released, has been booked into custody.

School officials said they take the situation very seriously and the incident could result in expulsion or criminal charges.
