TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- Tampa Bay is the largest open water estuary in the state. The local non-profit Tampa Bay Waterkeeper is working hard to preserve and protect this watershed so that it can be enjoyed for years to come.
Amanda had the honor of partaking in this year's Gasparilla Bowl Inshore Fishing Tournament whose proceeds benefit this organization. Justin Tramble is the Executive Director and said that "we get to live in one of the prettiest places in the world, we have this beautiful estuary right here in our backyard" and that "Tampa Bay Waterkeeper "holds their standards high when it comes to protecting it."
They are dedicated to ensuring fishable, swimmable, and drinkable water for more than 2.7 million people across Hillsborough and Pinellas County.
